Maja was born in Novi Sad, Serbia where she completed secondary school of design "Bogdan Suput" – Graphic Department in 1989. 1990. she participate in the seminar held at the Senior School of Ceramic 'Pieter Brueghel Institute' in Veghel, The Netherlands, studing the rakoo technique. In 1996, she graduates at the Faculty of Applied Arts and Design – Department of Ceramics in Belgrade .
Since 1995, Maja holds the membership at the Association of Artists in Applied Arts and Design of Vojvodina , in Novi Sad, and from 1997 until 2003 she was a member of the Art Board.
1999 Maja lived for a five months in Tunis and one year in Greece, where she studied and mastered a modern Greek ceramic technique.
Since 1992 Maja had numerous solo and group exhibitions of her ceramics works in different countries, such as Serbia [formal Yugoslavia, than Serbia and Montenegro], Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, Czech Republic, Germany and The Netherlands. She also exhibited at the large international ceramic exhibitions, such as World Triennial of Small Ceramics (Zagreb, Croatia), Triennial of the Ceramic Art (Belgrade, Subotica, Serbia), FORMA (Novi Sad, Serbia) etc. Maja received for her works several important awards; the last one was at the forma 19, biennial exhibition of UPIDIV
She used different ceramic techniques in her art expression such as porcelain, rakoo, stoneware etc. Maja collaborates with a prestigious galleries of contemporary art such as Mak gallery , Art Gallery CrystalD (The Hague, The Netherlands), Artihove Art Center (Bergschenhoel, The Netherlands), Galerie Henk Pruysen (Warmond, The Netherlands), Gallery BR (Salcburg, Austria), Chok gallery , Idea-S (Budapest, Hungary), Singidunum (Belgrade, Serbia), Mithos (Chania, Creta, Greece), Katerina Farmaki Gallery (Chania, Creta, Greece), Jacky Ranger Gallery (Santorini, Greece), etc. Numerous of her works are in possessions of the art museums, art galleries, private collections, and public buildings.
Since January 2003 she is also working together with her partner P on their mutual art projects called ‘MP_art ’ by using performances, installations as well as digital images and video in combination with different materials such as glass and ceramic, with strategy which is based on the striving for expression of personal intimacy through universal legibility and vice versa.
